Interested in becoming a Passive House Professional?

How do I become a PH Professional? Can be determined by the main page first.

Familiarise yourself with the Passive House standard first, by taking our free online course Passive House for Decision Makers and the Passive House Fundamentals course. Passive House buildings are energy efficient buildings that provide users with high levels of comfort and excellent air quality 24/7. They may not look any different from other buildings, but good planning as well as careful execution of the details is essential in their construction. As a result, professionals need additional training through Passive House courses.

The Passive House Institute has developed a flexible system to promote "lifelong learning" and the gradual acquisition of Passive House knowledge: Once you have acquired a main Passive House Tradesperson or, Consultant/Designer certificate, you can earn additional qualification by gaining expertise in a specific topic (such as Retrofit, Site Supervisor, or PHPP Expert among others). This system also takes the further education of other professional groups into account, as well as activities that are important for the construction of Passive House buildings.

Take a course at the Passive House Institute or at one of our worldwide accredited course / exam providers and join us on our global mission of building energy efficiency.

Certification

Need to renew your personal or building certification?

No problem! By submitting a project documentation to the training department (planer@passiv.de?), it is possible to renew a certificate at any time, even if your certificate has already expired.

FR: It sounds like the preferred way is the project documentation. Maybe better to rephrase it to say from the beginning that they can renew in two ways. You can also look at the wording of the professionals website. The certification department recently updated the renewal criteria, so before publishing we should let them check that the information is up to date. Here it could be good to mention that iPHA members have a discount on their renewal fee.

You can also extend your certificate if you have attended continuing education events and have acquired 100 CPs within the last 5 years

Searching for a certified component or manufacturer?

Check out our Component Database and find our newly certified components, get in touch with a manufacturer, learn more about our certification criteria, or just browse around!

FR: I think this section doesn't fit this category, cause it's something different. This would go under PHI services I think and also it should be mentioned in the "guide" section

First time getting certified? FR: I would move these links above, when you introduce the courses, so you have 1. first time getting certified, 2. Looking to deepen your PH knowledge and 3. Renew your certification (if the structure stays like this I would rename the section from Certification to Renew your certification)
