On the way to a CO2-neutral society, the building sector, due to its large share of total energy consumption gained from predominantly fossil resources, is of critical importance. In order to achieve climate protection and energy efficiency goals, new and retrofitted residential and non-residential buildings must make a decisive contribution.
With the North Rhine-Westphalia Special Award of the EnergieAgentur.NRW we show how the Passive House standard is being implemented in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The jury evaluates submitted NRW properties according to the following criteria:
The EnergieAgentur.NRW works on behalf of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia as an operational platform with broad expertise in the energy sector: from energy research, technical development, demonstration and market launch, through initial consultancy to continuing vocational training. In times of obvious climate change and thus a growing awareness of climate protection, it is more important than ever to promote the development of innovative energy technologies in North Rhine-Westphalia and to show, from a neutral perspective, ways in which companies, municipalities and private individuals can use energy more economically or make sensible use of renewable energies.
The EnergieAgentur.NRW is financially supported by the European Union and the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Economic Affairs.
