Read as the first part of our new weekly series "Conference Countdown" why prefabricated retrofits in existing buildings are indispensable for climate protection. Gerhard Kopeinig will present details on serial renovation in Linz on September 11, 2021, at the 25th International Passive House Conference.

30 apartments quickly refurbished

The wooden elements arrived on-site completely prefabricated with integrated ventilation, windows, sun protection, etc. and were then installed. The duration of the complete refurbishment project of 30 occupied (!) apartments was only four weeks! Additional value comes from the high level of satisfaction reported among the users due to the significantly improved energy efficiency and the improved living comfort. The refurbishment of the 30 occupied apartments was possible due to the accuracy provided by digital plans as well as CNC production.

Gerhard Kopeinig will present this refurbishment project in Linz, Austria, in Session 7. Serial refurbishments like this one should help to increase refurbishment rates. This increase is necessary to prepare the building stock for the future and implement climate protection in the building sector. The EU has launched the outPHit project to achieve precisely this.

Details on serial refurbishment in Linz will be available on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
