As a comfort-driven approach, the Passivhaus standard includes overheating criterion; Internal temperatures must not exceed 25ºC for more than 10% of the year. As with all models, the assessment is highly dependent on the assumptions. We must strive to ensure the results remain robust when the assumptions vary, such as occupant behaviour changes or as the climate warms. In response, the Trust has developed a NEW PHPP plugin, accompanied by detailed guidance covering design strategies to reduce risk, limitations and constraints that may have an impact, indicators of the likelihood of risk, and a series of stress tests to demonstrate robustness.
