Find out what’s under the hood of the new Primary Energy Renewable calculations and take a typical US building step-by-step from Passive House Classic to Passive House Plus and Premium certification levels, lowering energy demand each step of the way, while integrating renewable production. This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from a Passive House Institute scientist and discuss with her the technical questions you have. Pre-requisites: Intermediate knowledge and experience with the Passive House concept and Passive House Planning Package (PHPP). Laptop with the following previously installed software: Spreadsheet program (compatible with Excel 2007 or higher) * Please note that the English version of PHPP 9 will not be available at the time of the course. The workshop is based on a demo Version of PHPP 9 in English, which you will be able to take home with you. If you already have a PHPP license for an older version, please bring your PHPP registration number and we are prepared to offer a discount for PHPP 9 purchase once the English version becomes available (around $40). About the Instructor: Jessica Grove-Smith graduated with a master’s degree in physics (MPhys) from the University of Sussex in England. She has been part of the research team at the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt, Germany since 2008. Her responsibilities range from stationary and dynamic energy demand modelling, climate data for energy calculations and hygrothermal simulations of individual building components. The application of the Passive House concept in different climate zones and for indoor swimming pools have also been a main focus of her work, as well as contributions to the renewable primary energy assessment method that is being introduced for the new Passive House classes.
