On the 6th of October 2012 the 1st Hellenic Passive House Conference was held in Athens with more than 500 participants and having as motto “Building Passive-Living in 21st Century”. Nearly a year after, the Hellenic Passive House Institute is organizing the 2nd Hellenic Passive House Conference and the 1st PassiEXPO , under the title “Passive House: PASSION for energy saving & quality of life”, that will be hosted from 25 to 27 of October 2013 at Technopolis City of Athens –Gazi, an established cultural space within The Industrial Gas Museum at the very center of Athens. The goal of the 2nd Hellenic Passive House Conference is to inform about all the aspects of designing processes and realization of a passive house, to present the most recent facts regarding practical issues of implementation, and to give contemporary, innovating and reliable solutions responding to the increased demands for energy upgrade of the existing building footprint. The 2nd Hellenic Passive House Conference is addressed to those involved in the construction field (engineers, architects, mechanical engineers, construction manufacturers, production companies and traders of passive systems), to college students, researchers, academics and , ultimately, to everyone interested. The three-day events of the PassiEXPO 2013 will specifically include: 1.CONFERENCE (26/10/2013): With the participation of the members –or non-members- of the HPHI from all over Greece, but also with established scientific speakers from Greece and abroad that will present examples and facts regarding the implementation of the passive house standard in Mediterranean climates. 2.WORKSHOPS (25/10/2013): With the participation of leading experts from Greece and abroad a series of practical educational workshops will be held, covering the basic thematic units of the realization of a Passive House. Furthermore there will be also a presentation of the PHPP8. 3.EXHIBITION OF Components for Passive Houses (25-26/10/2013): With the participation of some of the most leading companies in manufacturing passive construction components and technologies for energy efficiency, for the first time in Greece will be organized an exhibition totally dedicated to the nearly zero-energy buildings. 4.PHOTO EXHIBITION (25-26/10/2013): A photo exhibition documenting projects established with the passive house standard, from engineers all over Greece. 5.Excursion (27/10/2013) to Passive Houses already constructed or under construction in Greece.
