GREEN.BUILDING.SOLUTIONS. Summer University (GBS):
First-hand ecological knowledge and engineering expertise are bundled in a three-week program in Vienna. The international program is for graduate students and professionals in all fields relating to the built environment such as architects, engineers and economists, marketers and property developers. 46 participants from 30 different countries participated in the 2017; the 7th time the summer university has taken place. The program is co-organized by an international consortium of 10 universities (Vienna University of Technology, University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, Modul University, Danube University Krems, University of Vienna, Waterford Institute of Technology, University of Tokyo, University of Applied Science Campus Vienna, University of Applied Science Technikum Vienna, and the University of Applied Science Vienna), as well as research institutions such as Austrian Institute of Technology, innovative Gebäude Austria. Upon completion, students receive 7 ECTS credits. In 2013 the GBS Summer University was awarded a prize by the Austrian Commission for UNESCO and in 2015 the program won the Environmental Prize from the City of Vienna. Dates for 2018 are July 21 - August 12, 2018.
 
The main topics of the 3-week program are
o Sustainability in Building and Urban Planning,
o Principles of Passive House planning and
o Renewable Energies and Business Concepts.
